ANKARA - Palestinian Ambassador to Ankara Fouad Yaseen said on Tuesday that it would not make any shock if the next target of Israel was Palestinian President Yasser Arafat after killing of spiritual Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.
Speaking to A.A correspondent, Yaseen said every Palestinian citizen felt himself in the list of Israel, stating that many people like Sheikh Yassin were killed.
Describing killing of Yassin as saddening, Yaseen said wheel-chaired Yassin was making calls for peace.
Yaseen said Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Israeli army celebrated killing of Yassin as a victory.
Yaseen said, ''I wonder if Israeli army is so weak that such a person makes a threat or danger for them.'' He noted that killing of Yassin was not the end of fighting.
Pointing out that Palestinian people were insistent on peace sincerely, Yaseen said peace was the only way both for Palestine and Israel.
Yaseen said, ''each action has of course its own reaction. But our strategy is to continue our resistance till the end of occupation. Revenge is not a strategy. Our mainline is to liberate our country. Peace is the only solution. In war there is no winner but in peace there are no losers.''
''I hope Sharon and his government will realize this fact,'' Yaseen stated.
