Erdogan Holds Telephone Conversation With U.S. President Bush

BUERGENSTOCK - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a telephone conversation with U.S. President George W. Bush.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Monday that President Bush had congratulated Prime Minister Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AK Party) for its success in the local elections.
President Bush corroborated that he would come to Turkey in June to attend the NATO Summit in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Erdogan conveyed his views about changes which the Turkish side wanted to make in the draft plan of United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan.
Recalling that he had charged U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to deal with the Cyprus issue, President Bush reiterated that they attributed great importance to the issue.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Erdogan met with United Nations Secretary General Annan.
He is expected to hold talks with Greek Prime Minister Costas Caramanlis later in the day.
