GUL GETS ANGRY WHEN DE SOTO WANTS MAP
When U.N. Representative Alvaro de Soto wanted map from Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, he said, ''which map do you want? Look, the documents we have given to you change hands.''
Stating that secret documents were leaked to Greek Cypriot media, Gul said, ''how can we give anything to you in such a case?''
De Soto became flushed and said, ''this is shameful''.

CITIZENS VOTE FOR DEMOCRACY
Citizens in Turkey will vote today to elect its local administrators. Around 43 million 500 thousand 64 votes will vote in 174 thousand 355 ballot boxes to elect 93 thousand 353 local administrators who will be term in office for five years.

THE MOST CRITICAL THREE DAYS
U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan will present fourth Annan plan to the two prime ministers on Monday. He will have telephone diplomacy with the world leaders on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Annan will make the latest changes on the plan and say, ''as you can not agree, take this plan and put it to referendum on April 20.''

NEW PLAN TO BE PRESENTED ON MONDAY
U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan will present a new plan to the sides following arrival of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Greek Prime Minister Costas Caramanlis to Switzerland today. Annan will present the final shape of the plan, which he will discuss with Erdogan and Caramanlis till March 31, to the sides on April to put to referendum.

TURKEY AT BALLOT BOX
A total of 43 million 500 thousand voters will go to ballot boxes to determine their local governors today. Casting votes will start at 8.00 a.m. and end 05.00 p.m. in western provinces while ballot boxes will be opened and closed one hour earlier in eastern provinces.

FUND SUPPORT FROM EU TO SCHOOLS THAT CREATE PROJECTS
Turkey which is full member of three leading education programs of the European Union (EU), Socrates, Leonardo, Youth, is expecting projects from all schools to benefit from EU's education budget worth of 3,5 billion Euros.

COMPREHENSIVE NEGOTIATION AT MEAL
All sides convened at a luncheon during quartet Cyprus conference in Switzerland. The luncheon in which foreign ministers of Turkey, Greece, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot side participated lasted nearly three hours. When Greek Foreign Minister Petros Molyviatis sat near TRNC Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat, it was interpreted that sides have become such close for the first time.

ANNAN BRINGS HIS NEW DOCUMENT
U.N Secretary General Kofi Annan, who arrived at Buergenstock, is expected to present the sides a new plan called as Fourth Annan Plan.
Turkish, Greek, Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot sides convened on Saturday for the second time.
A general evaluation was made at the luncheon following European Union (EU) Brussels summit.

COST OF ELECTIONS IS 85 TRILLION LIRA
The Higher Election Board (YSK) spent around 85 trillion lira for the elections in which local administrators will be determined.
A total of 1 million 220 thousand and 458 people will work during elections.

SECURITY FORCES INTERCEPT 256 KG OF HEROIN AND 27.6 KG OF COCAINE IN FIVE OPERATIONS IN ISTANBUL
Security forces intercepted on Saturday 256 kg of heroin and 27.6 kg of cocaine in five separate operations in Istanbul.
Security forces seized 27 kg and 620 grams of cocaine in Umraniye district of Istanbul and 256 kg of heroin in operations in Avcilar and Pendik districts of Istanbul. A total of 22 people were detained after operations.

12 TURKISH COMPANIES ARE AMONG 2 THOUSAND WORLD GIANTS
A total of 12 Turkish companies took part among the list of the world's leading 2000 companies of Forbes magazine.
Forbes magazine announced the world's leading 2000 companies which will be published on Monday. Turkiye Is Bankasi takes place as Turkey's leading companies in the list. Is Bankasi ranks the 566th among the leading companies of the world. Sabanci Group is the second leading company and ranks the 666th.

HARD BARGAINING STARTS
Turkey wanted Greek side to determine its priorities at the quartet luncheon during which Turkey, TRNC, Greece and Greek Cypriot side convened for the first time officially. U.N. official De Soto, who also attended the meal, put the new plan at table.

REPROACH TO DE SOTO
U.N. official De Soto wanted from Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul a map on the path to be followed. Gul rejected as saying ''if I give map, will you leak it like the other document?'' Meanwhile, TRNC promised the U.N. to resort the result to referendum.

REFERENDUM CAN BE IN DANGER
Turkish side gave the signal that referendum would not be held on April 20 if the agreement which would be reached in Cyprus would not be given sufficient legal assurance. While comprehensive negotiations were held at the second quartet working meal in Buergenstock yesterday, Ankara was not satisfied with adaptation law proposal which was presented to Turkey about derogations.

12 TURKISH COMPANIES AMONG LEADING COMPANIES LIST
American banking giant Citigroup has become the biggest company of the world. A total of 12 companies from Turkey entered the list of the leading 2000 companies of the world. Forbes magazine announced the leading 2000 companies of the world. Turkiye Is Bankasi has become the biggest company of Turkey in the list.
