BUERGENSTOCK - Incorporation of derogations into the European Union (EU) law and its becoming permanent will continue to be discussed in process to find a fair and lasting solution to Cyprus issue in Buergenstock.
Diplomatic sources said Turkish side has a package of proposals for the derogations which it considered as ''a vital issue'' for incorporation of derogations into the EU law.
Turkish side expects the questions ''which fields it would cover,'' and ''its period and legal status,'' to be answered on the issue of derogations.
Turkish side, which expected the EU to assume a definite attitude about the derogations, asked the EU to initiate the process to incorporate derogations into EU law.
Turkish side thinks that one-year transition period, envisaged to put EU acquis into practice in northern Cyprus, was enough for approval of provisions of foundation agreement by the parliaments of member countries.
This proposal of Turkey is expected to be discussed in the EU summit in Brussels.
The sides are expected to return to Switzerland again following the Brussels summit, but their program has not yet become definite.
Turkish diplomatic sources said U.N. Secretary General's Special Envoy for Cyprus Alvaro de Soto had difficulty in persuading the Greek and Greek Cypriot delegations for talks on core issues.
Meanwhile, high ranking authorities convened in Buergenstock for Turkish-Greece security talks. Diplomatic sources said progress was recorded in talks.
