ISTANBUL - A group of people convened in Istanbul on Friday to protest the killing of Hamas spiritual leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin in a missile attack of Israel.
The group burnt Israeli and U.S. flags and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's puppet in Beyazit Square in Istanbul.
Police tightened security in the square where the demonstrators hang banners and Palestinian flags.
The group who carried photographs of Yassin chanted slogans against Israel, the United States and Sharon.
Demonstrators later dispersed without causing any incidents.
Sheik Ahmed Yassin died in a missile attack of Israel on Monday.
