U.N. Secretary General Is Expected To Present Fourth Annan Plan To The Sides On Saturday

WASHINGTON - United Nations (U.N.) Secretary General Kofi Annan is expected to present the sides the recent draft he prepared regarding solution on Cyprus question. The recent draft, publicly known as the fourth Annan plan, is expected to be given to the sides in Buergenstock, Switzerland on Saturday.
Diplomatic sources told A.A correspondent in Washington that Annan will evaluate the situation with U.N. Special Envoy for Cyprus Alvaro de Soto and later present the Fourth Annan Plan to Turkish, Greek, Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot sides.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Greek Prime Minister Costas Caramanlis will join the talks on Monday. The sides are expected to work on the draft till Wednesday.
Meanwhile, it was reported that U.S. administration may intervene after presentation of the Fourth Annan Plan to the sides.
Diplomatic sources said this could be through telephone conversations between U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and the sides as of Sunday.
According to the method which the sides agreed on February 13 in New York, Annan will make the final decision on issues which an agreement could not be reached at the end of the process in Switzerland.
