ISTANBUL - Turkish gendarme forces confiscated 26.3 kilograms of heroin in an operation staged in Buyukcekmece district of Istanbul, Istanbul Governor's Office said on Wednesday.
A statement of Istanbul Governor's Office noted that gendarme forces staged operations against four separate places in Buyukcekmece's Yakuplu hamlet on March 22 and confiscated 26.3 kilograms of heroin in their operations.
The statement added that five people were captured on charges of illicit drug trafficking.
