The 550 deputies Türkiye elects on 22 July will take their seats with a broad set of financial and logistical benefits attached to the role.
Each member of parliament receives a three-month salary advance of 24,000 YTL (at roughly 1.27 YTL to the dollar) on swearing in, along with a monthly telephone allowance of 1,500 YTL.
Once a new annex to the parliament building is completed, every deputy will have a private office four times the size of current quarters, staffed with a personal secretary and an advisor.
Senior members, including the 15 on the parliamentary bureau, committee chairs, and group deputy chairmen, will be assigned chauffeured cars. Cabinet ministers receive a chief advisor, a larger support staff, and private security arrangements.
All deputies may use the parliamentary hospital at no cost, and they and their families can also seek care at other state hospitals and contracted private facilities. MPs receive VIP handling at airports, and tea and coffee inside the building are provided free of charge.
