LEFKOSA - Turkish and Greek Cypriot delegations headed by President Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos met in the buffer zone on Monday for the 15th time under the negotiation process aiming to find a fair and lasting solution to the Cyprus issue.
The sides, who has met for the last time prior to the four-party conference to be held in Switzerland, will review the issues, which have been taken up in the negotiations so far.
President Denktas did not make any statement prior to the meeting.
He is expected to hold a press conference later in the day.
The meeting is expected to focus on issues of appointment of officials of the common state, place of offices of the common state, properties, constitution, map, national anthem and flag, right to use properties of the constituent states, and situation of those who migrated from Turkey to Cyprus.
Also, the sides will explain their views about three foreign judges who have been appointed to the higher court for a period of 36 months by the United Nations.
President Denktas is expected to submit the current constitution of TRNC to the United Nations at the meeting.
After the Greek Cypriot side decided to go to Switzerland conditionally, President Denktas said that he would tell Papadopoulos that the government would represent TRNC in the four-party conference to start in Switzerland on March 24 with full authority.
