TBILISI - Turkish Parliamentary European Union (EU) Adjustment Commission Chairman Yasar Yakis and former State Minister Refaeddin Sahin met on Saturday with Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania.
Yakis and Sahin are holding meetings in Georgian capital Tbilisi on behalf of Turkish government.
Following the meeting, Zhvania told A.A correspondent that he, Yakis and Sahin discussed bilateral relations and tension between his country and Adzharia.
Expressing pleasure with Turkey's attitude towards that process, Zhvania said that Ankara government had supported Georgia's policies and territorial integrity.
Zhvania added that Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili planned to pay an official visit to Turkey in May.
Turkey was pleased with peaceful solution of tension between Georgia and Adzharia, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
Yakis and Sahin are holding meetings in Tbilisi and Batumi on March 19 and 21 in order to express Turkey's pleasure with peaceful settlement of the crisis between Georgia and Adzharia and exchange views about measures to be taken between two sides to prevent reoccurrence of such a tension in the future.
