ISTANBUL - Foreign Minister Celso Amorim of Brazil, who is paying a visit to Turkey as the guest of Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, proceeded from Ankara to Istanbul on Saturday.
Amorim will visit historical places of Istanbul and depart from Turkey in the evening.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Amorim was received by Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and met with Turkish Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman Mehmet Dulger and Turkish Foreign Minister Gul on Friday.
Gul and Amorim held a joint press conference following their tete-a-tete meeting.
Visit of Amorim to Turkey would add a new momentum to bilateral relations, Gul stressed in the press conference.
Amorim expressed wish to improve bilateral relations with Turkey and said that two countries could cooperate in aviation, maritime, transportation and tourism.
