Turkish Deputy Chief Of General Staff Departs From Washington

WASHINGTON - Turkish Deputy Chief of General Staff Ilker Basbug, who completed his meetings in Washington, departed from this city late on Friday.
Basbug, who proceeded to New York, will later leave for Turkey.
Turkish Deputy Chief of General Staff Basbug visited U.S. Marine Corps base in Quantico near Washington prior to his departure.
Basbug met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, Deputy National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage and other Pentagon and State Department officials in Washington.
