Gendarme Forces Intervene In Illegal Demonstration In Van

VAN - Gendarme forces have intervened in a group of students, who attempted to hold an illegal demonstration at the Yuzuncu Yil University in eastern province of Van to mark the Nevruz.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Friday that nearly 200 students gathered in front of the university building and chanted slogans.
Gendarme forces warned the students to disperse immediately. However, the students responded the warning by throwing stones at gendarme forces.
Later, gendarme forces intervened in the group.
Five students were slightly injured and 150 others were detained during the intervention.
