CAIRO - Justice Minister Cemil Cicek Thursday met with Egyptian Minister of Justice Farouq Seif al-Nasr.
Turkish citizens convicted in Egypt and terrorism issues constituted the main items of the talks between the delegations of the two countries.
Turkey's Ambassador in Cairo Korkmaz Haktanir participated in the talks.
Cicek said both countries suffered a lot from terrorism, noting that this caused economic loses as well as deaths.
Cicek demanded extradition of the Turkish criminals in Egypt, recalling that meeting of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak with President Ahmet Necdet Sezer was very positive. Seif al-Nasr responded affirmatively to the demand of Cicek.
Cicek invited Seif al-Nasr to Turkey, and his invitation was welcomed by Seif al-Nasr.
Seif Al-Nasir wanted a delegation, comprised of judicial authorities, to be sent to Egypt, and noted that they were not against extradition, but that implementation of it was important.
There are currently 32 Turkish citizens in Egypt convicted of drug smuggling. Sentences of 11 of them are expected to end soon.
