Turkish Deputy Chief Of General Staff Meets With U.S. Deputy Secretary Of State

WASHINGTON - Turkish Deputy Chief of General Staff Ilker Basbug met on Thursday with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage.
Basbug, who is paying an official visit to the United States, and Armitage took up issues concerning the two countries in their meeting.
General Basbug is expected to meet with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Elizabeth Jones later in the day.
Turkish Deputy Chief of General Staff Basbug visited bases of the U.S. armed forces in Louisiana and Florida before he came to Washington.
Basbug held meetings at the White House and Pentagon on Wednesday.
