BASKALE - Turkish gendarme forces confiscated on Wednesday 52 kilograms 500 grams of heroin in Baskale town of eastern Van province.
Acting on a tip-off, gendarme forces found a depot used for illicit heroin production in Tinazli village in Baskale town and seized 52 kilograms and 500 grams of heroin in their operation.
Turkish gendarme forces also confiscated many substances and equipment used in illicit drug production.
Gendarme forces detained three people in connection with illicit drug production.
Efforts are under way to capture one more person.
The heroin had a market value of about 1 trillion Turkish liras (TL).
