IZMIR - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Sunday that Turkey had reached a very good level in foreign relations.
Gul attended a meeting organized by Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, Izmir Chamber of Commerce and Izmir Trade Market in western Izmir province.
In the meeting, Gul said that Turkey had started to be the center of everything those days.
Gul went on saying, ''a prime minister is visiting Turkey every week. People who never came to Turkey have started to visit our country. European Commission President hasn't visited Turkey since 1983. European Parliament President came to Turkey for the first time after we came to power. Our relations with Greece are obvious. Syrian President hasn't visited Turkey since 1958, but came to Turkey this year. Prime ministers could not meet with Russian President, but I went to Russia in recent days and met with President Putin and we decided to cooperate in many important issues. Turkey has reached these days from an isolated situation.''
Many businessmen accompanied Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his abroad visits, Gul stated. Gul said that many business deals were made in those visits.
