Gul: We Want Stability And Tranquility In Our Neighboring Countries

IZMIR - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Sunday that incidents which occurred in Syria after a football match caused uneasiness. ``We want stability and tranquility in our neighbors,`` he noted.
Replying to questions of reporters, Gul said the incidents which occurred in al Qamishli after a football match were calmed down. He expressed sorrow over killing of many people.
Stating that incitements should not be allowed, Gul said, ``we want stability and tranquility in our neighbors. Tranquility should prevail in the region so that we will not experience such days. However, it is not right to reflect those tensions like war either.``
When a journalist asked his views about the assassination attempt on Faruk Abdullah Abdurrahman, the Chairman of Iraqi Turkmen Front, Gul said, ``difficulties continue in Iraq. There are terrorist attacks. They should not happen.``
