ISTANBUL - World Bank President James Wolfensohn said on Sunday that formation of Investment Consultative Council was an important step for Turkey.
Wolfensohn told A.A correspondent that he hoped the Council would yield positive results for direct investments.
World Bank Wolfensohn later met with Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy leader Kemal Dervis at the Ciragan Palace.
Dervis told A.A correspondent that he paid a courtesy visit to Wolfensohn.
World Bank President Wolfensohn came to Istanbul on Sunday.
Wolfensohn will attend the meeting of Investment Consultative Council on Monday and act as a coordinator for report of evaluation and proposals that will be prepared after the meeting.
World Bank President James Wolfensohn will visit Bilgi University on Tuesday and see the projects supported by International Finance Corporation (IFC). He will later visit IFC's office in Istanbul.
Wolfensohn is expected to depart from Turkey for Slovenia on Tuesday.
