ISTANBUL - The 23rd International Istanbul Film Festival organized by the Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation (IKSV) will be held between April 10 and 25, 2004.
Holding a press conference, IKSV Chairman Sakir Eczacibasi said on Sunday that the festival made a valuable contribution to cultural life of Turkey.
A total of 203 films from 62 countries will be shown during the festival.
During the festival, 19 films from 10 different countries will be shown under the title of ''Latin American Cinema''.
A total of 12 films will participate in the national contest of the festival.
In the ''International Contest'' part of the festival, 13 foreign and a Turkish film will vie for the Golden Tulip Award.
Meanwhile, the exhibition of ''Film Posters from an Island (1960-2000)'' will be displayed during the festival. The exhibition is composed of posters of 75 Cuban films.
