ANKARA - U.S. Department of State's Coordinator for Afghanistan William Taylor met with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Tuygan on Friday.
Following the meeting, Tuygan said that they had assessed the recent developments in Afghanistan in detail.
''Issues such as current situation in Afghanistan, efforts to further develop co-operation between Turkey and the United States in Afghanistan, and possible future contributions of the international community to Afghanistan were high on agenda of our meeting,'' he said.
Tuygan told reporters that the request for Turkey's additional military contribution to Afghanistan was not taken up at the meeting.
''Establishment of some development teams was discussed at the meeting. Turkey may establish such a team to continue its assistance to Afghanistan,'' he added.
