ANKARA - A group of university students, who called themselves ''March 13 Initiative'', have gathered in Ankara's Kurtulus Park to protest the Higher Board of Education (YOK).
Sources told the A.A correspondent that about 1.5 thousand students who came to Ankara from provinces of Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Kocaeli and Diyarbakir, gathered in the park.
Later, students began marching to the Kizilay square by chanting slogans.
Police have taken tight measures in the square blocking the ways leading to Kizilay.
Meanwhile, a police helicopter has been flying over Kizilay since 9.00 a.m.
Nearly five thousand policemen have been deployed in the square to prevent any act of violence.
