ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul signed on Friday the book of condolence opened in Spanish Embassy in Turkey upon the terrorist attacks which took place in Madrid, Spain.
Speaking to reporters while leaving the Spanish Embassy, Foreign Minister Gul said that they felt deep sorrow for the people who died and who were wounded in the terrorist attacks and he expressed condolences to Spanish people on behalf of the Turkish nation and government.
Noting that Turkey was one of the countries which suffered significantly from terrorism, Gul said that ''it is us who can understand the best what terrorism means. In that respect, we understand very well the terrorist incidents that took place in Madrid yesterday. Terrorism can't have any reason and terrorism can't be explained in anyway.'' Gul added that such kind of merciless crimes committed against innocent people could never be forgiven.
