ANKARA - International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation is expected to complete its meetings in Turkey, held as a part of the seventh review, on Friday.
Sources said on Thursday that a part of IMF experts was expected to leave Turkey on Friday. The remaining delegation is expected to leave at the weekend.
IMF Turkey Desk Chief Reza Moghadam was expected to stay for some more time in Turkey to meet with IMF European Department Director Michael Deppler, who will come to Turkey to attend the ''Investment Consultative Council Meeting'' to take place in Istanbul on March 15, the sources noted.
Economy management is expected to meet with Deppler and evaluate the seventh review.
Meanwhile, economy management will take up utilization of country assistance strategy (CAS) loan with World Bank President James Wolfensohn, who will also come to Istanbul to attend the ''Investment Consultative Council Meeting.''
IMF delegation came to Turkey on February 26 for the seventh review with Turkey.
Delegation headed by Moghadam met with directors of some companies, namely Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB), Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD), Foreign Capital Association (YASED) and Savings and Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF) in Istanbul between February 27 and 29.
The IMF delegation started meetings in Ankara on March 1. Moghadam and accompanying delegation met with State Minister Ali Babacan, Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan and Treasury bureaucrats.
Last week, the delegation focused on issues like strengthening public finance in the long term, strengthening budget management and tax collection, reducing finance deficit in social security system, increasing efficiency and independence of Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) and Savings and Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF).
