ANKARA - Foreign Ministry Thursday condemned string of explosions on three train stations in Madrid.
Issuing a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed sorrow over killing of hundreds of people in the attacks, and noted that, ''as we always expressed, Turkey harshly condemns every kind of terrorist activities whatever its target and reason is and whoever does it.''
The statement said, ''Turkey, which gives priority to the importance of international cooperation in fight against terrorism, which is a crime against humanity, has been defending taking concrete and influential steps on this issue.''
The statement said Turkish people shared the grief of Spanish people, and extended condolences for those who lost their lives in the attacks.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul spoke with Spanish Foreign Minister Anna Palacio by phone and extended his condolences and expressed sorrow over the attacks.
