ANKARA - Privatization Administration Board Chairman Metin Kilci said on Wednesday that there was no IMF pressure on them to speed up privatization.
IMF delegation headed by IMF Turkey Desk Chief Reza Moghadam visited Privatization Administration Board the same day and met with Kilci.
IMF Turkey representative Odd Per Brekk and Privatization Administration Board deputy chairman Hasan Koktas also attended the meeting.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Kilci said that they assessed the recent developments in privatization and they explained the things done in that field to IMF delegation. He said that many projects started in the year 2003 were resulted in the first months of 2004. Kilci said that studies continued for privatization of Telecom.
When asked how the IMF delegation evaluated the developments, Kilci said that IMF delegation was pleased with the developments in privatization.
