ANKARA - Afghanistan has asked Turkey for help regarding the foundation of the Afghan national army.
Vice President and Defense Minister of Afghanistan Mohammad Fahim Khan asked Turkey for help regarding the foundation of the Afghan national army, training of the police organization and health issues during his meetings in Ankara and he also requested continuation of Turkey's contribution to International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.
Diplomatic sources said that Turkey was warm to the demands of Fahim Khan, adding that the assistance of Turkey in the mentioned fields continued.
After his meetings in Ankara, Fahim Khan will also have contacts in Konya and Istanbul. Fahim Khan had meetings in Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry, National Defense Ministry and General Staff in Ankara.
Meanwhile a delegation from a think tank in U.S. namely Atlantic Council will visit Turkey between 11-12 March.
The representatives of the Council who will have meetings in Ankara and Istanbul, will exchange views about the future of NATO and the NATO Summit that will be held in Istanbul.
