Gul: Turkey Gives Message To U.S. That It Will Not Be Subcontractor Of A Project Like Middle East Initiative

ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday that Turkey gave the message to the United States that it would not be the subcontractor of a project like the Greater Middle East Initiative of the united States.
Gul, who replied to a question on the Greater Middle East Initiative of the United States in a program live broadcast on private NTV channel, Gul said that this region should exert efforts to overcome problems of the regional people.
Gul stated that there were not any projects submitted to Turkey by the United States so far, but there were some initiatives on the issue.
Turkey gave the message to the United States that ''Turkey would not be the subcontractor of such a project'', Gul said.
But, Gul noted, Turkey and the United States could work together.
Gul expressed thought that no progress could be reached in the project unless Israeli-Palestinian dispute was solved.
