ANKARA - A Chinese delegation headed by Wang Jiarui, the head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, met with Turkish-Chinese Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Salih Kapusuz on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Kapusuz said that two friendly delegations had held a meeting in a very sincere and warm atmosphere, adding that the ruling Communist Party of China had 67 million members, which was as much as Turkey's population.
Meanwhile, Jiarui said that they attributed importance to relations with Turkey which had important economic and political functions in the world.
Noting that relations between the two countries had started in 1971 and developed gradually, Jiarui said that he believed such visits would consolidate friendship ties.
Stating that members of the Chinese delegation would tell their friends and relatives about hospitality of Turkish people, Jiarui added that they would encourage them to visit Turkey and they hoped also Turkish people would visit China.
