ISTANBUL - People gathered early on Saturday at Istanbul's Okmeydani district to march in a "Silent Rally Against Terror," an event held by a number of non-governmental organizations.
The group carried banners condemning terror and terrorist activities but avoid chanting slogans.
"Today we gathered for our martyred soldiers and for all our citizens who lost their lives to terrorist activities," head of an NGO said in a press statement released at the end of rally.
"Our hearts are burning for those soldiers, officers and innocent citizens who died at the hands of terror and we convey our deepest respects and condolences," he added.
