Main Opposition Leader Rejects Premier's Prediction Of Presidential Crisis

ANKARA - Deniz Baykal, chairman of main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), rejected a prediction by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that a presidential election crisis might emerge following general elections.
"I have to say that premier's remarks are incomprehensible and there will not be any crisis in fact there should not be," Baykal told a live interview on private news channel CNN Turk.
Erdogan told a public rally in the southeastern city of Batman on Friday that Turkey would face a presidential election crisis following general elections slated for July 22nd.
Baykal also said that the new president should be elected through compromise in the parliament.
