Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Concert In Ephesus

SELCUK - British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra gave a concert titled "Tribute to A. Adnan Saygun's 100th birth Anniversary" at the Aegean city of Izmir, on Friday.
The concert is held in the framework of 21st International Izmir Festival, organized by Izmir Foundation for Culture, Arts and Education (IKSEV).
Governor of Izmir Cahit Kirac, Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu as well as president of the executive board of IKSEV Filiz Eczacibasi Sarper were present at the concert at the Great Theatre Ephesus.
Eastern and Western music met at the tribute concert held in the 3500 year old Great Theatre Ephesus. Russian Gennadi Rozhdestvensky conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the concert.
A. Adnan saygun was a leading Turkish composer of the 20th century. He significantly contributed to the development of western music in Turkey.
