Turkish Companies To Sell $200 Million Oil Products To Be Used In Iraq To Pentagon

WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Department of Defense has chosen Turkish companies in six tenders worth of 200 million U.S. dollars for sale of oil products to Iraq.
Releasing a statement on Monday, the U.S. Department of Defense said that 22 companies participated in the tenders for sale of oil products to Iraq, adding that it had decided to choose Turkish companies. These companies are as follows:
Turcas Petrol A.S., Istanbul, was awarded on March 5, 2004, 59 million U.S. dollars of fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract for diesel fuel and gasoline for Iraq.
Opet Petrolculuk A.S., Istanbul, was awarded on March 5, 2004, 55 million U.S. dollars of fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract for gasoline for Iraq.
Petrol Ofisi A.S., Istanbul, was awarded on March 5, 2004, 35 million U.S. dollars of fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract for diesel fuel for Iraq.
Delta Petrol Urunleri Ticaret A.S., Istanbul, was awarded on March 5, 2004, 18 million U.S. dollars of fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract for liquefied petroleum gas for Iraq.
Ipragaz A.S., Istanbul, was awarded on March 5, 2004, 17 million U.S. dollars of fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract for liquefied petroleum gas for Iraq.
Tefirom Construction and Energy Co. Ltd., Ankara, was awarded on March 5, 2004, 15 million U.S. dollars of fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract for liquefied petroleum gas for Iraq.
Performance completion date is expected to be June 30, 2004 for all six tenders.
The oil products to be purchased from Turkish companies will be used for civilians living in northern Iraq.
