DIYARBAKIR - General Staff said on Monday that two soldiers died and four others were injured as a military vehicle hit a mine in Gercus town of southeastern Batman province.
A statement of the General Staff said that two soldiers died and four others were injured as a military vehicle carrying soldiers hit a mine.
The statement said that the dead and the injured were sent to Diyarbakir Military Hospital by helicopters.
Meanwhile, Batman Governor Efkan Ala told A.A correspondent that a mine was detonated with a remote control as a military vehicle carrying soldiers from rural area to the center of the city was passing by.
According to preliminary reports, two soldiers died and four others were injured in the explosion, Ala said.
It was earlier reported that three soldiers died and six others were injured as a military vehicle hit a mine planted by terrorists on the highway.
