Osce Pa President George Expresses Belief Turkey Will Take Its Place In E.U. Soon

ANKARA - Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) President Bruce George, who is also acting as the head of British House of Common's Defense Committee, expressed belief on Monday that Turkey would take its place in the European Union (EU) very soon.
George visited Vahit Erdem, the head of the Turkish Group in NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Prior to the meeting, George said that Turkey was an important NATO member and expressed belief that Turkey would take its place in the EU very soon.
Noting that Britain supported Turkey on the road to its EU membership, Erdem stressed that this visit was important for further improvement of existing good relations between Britain and Turkey.
