American Official Due In Ankara From Iraq On Tuesday

ANKARA - A high ranking official from the U.S. interim administration in Iraq will come to Ankara on Tuesday upon the wish of the U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to give Turkey information about the content of the Iraqi interim constitution.
Diplomatic sources said on Monday that Ambassador Ron Newmann, the foreign relations official of the U.S. administration in Iraq will have meetings in Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
During Newmann's meetings, the details about the interim constitution signed in Iraq the same day will be taken up and economic issues can also come to agenda.
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul wrote a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell last night and conveyed the views and concerns of Turkey about the interim constitution of Iraq. After receiving the letter of Gul, Powell phoned Gul today and told him that he would send an American official from Iraq to Ankara to give Turkey detailed information about the issue.
