ANKARA - Turkey and France held political consultations in Ankara on Monday.
Turkey was represented by a delegation headed by Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal while French Foreign Ministry Secretary General Hubert Colin de Verdiere chaired the French delegation in the meetings.
Turkey-European Union (EU) relations, bilateral relations, political, economic, cultural and consular relations were taken up in the meeting as well as Cyprus issue and current regional and international issues.
Ziyal and Colin de Verdiere signed the updated application appendix of Turkey-France 2000 Action Plan.
Two countries signed the Action Plan which brought a strategical dimension to Turkish-French relations in 1998.
Ziyal told reporters that he believed that plan would improve bilateral relations.
Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ziyal said that the plan showed Turkey's will to further improve its cooperation with France.
Colin de Verdiere said that bilateral relations between Turkey and France would continue within a wide framework during Turkey's EU process.
