ANKARA - The industrial production increased by 6.5 percent in January of 2004 over to the same month of the previous year.
The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Monday the result of the monthly industrial production index using production information of 403 the most important items for January of 2004 taking 1997 as a base year.
According to the results, manufacturing industry production increased by 7.5 percent; and electricity, gas and water production increased by 5.8 percent while mining industry production decreased by 12.6 percent in January of 2004 over to the same period of the previous year.
In January of 2003, industrial production rose by 14.6 percent over to the same period of the previous year. Manufacturing industry production increased by 17.7 percent; and electricity, gas and water production increased by 3.2 percent while mining industry production decreased by 9.9 percent.
