BURSA - Exports of ready-to-wear clothing from northwestern province of Bursa increased by 7 percent, and exports of textiles rose by 31 percent in the January-February period of 2004.
Uludag Exporters' Association told the A.A correspondent on Friday that exports of ready-to-wear clothing and textiles increased from 176 million 267 thousand U.S. in January-February period of 2003 to 208 million 584 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period this year.
Meanwhile, exports of textiles increased 29 percent from 37 million 720 thousand U.S. dollars to 48 million 711 thousand U.S. dollars in February of 2004.
Exports of ready-to-wear clothing rose from 43 million 765 thousand U.S. dollars to 43 million 897 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period.
The region exported textiles to seven free zones and 81 countries and autonomous regions, and exported ready-to-wear clothing to five free zones and 70 countries and autonomous regions.
