Number Of Tourists Visiting Turkey Increases

ANKARA - The number of tourists who visited Turkey in February this year increased by 12.86 percent when compared to the same period last year. In February 2004, 607,854 tourists came to Turkey.
Ministry of Culture and Tourism said in a written statement on Thursday that Germany was ranked the first with 26.76 percent, Bulgaria was ranked the second with 14.52 percent and Russia was ranked the third with 6.02 percent in the list of countries sending the highest number of tourists to Turkey.
Tourists coming to Turkey from OECD countries increased by 19.90 percent and tourists coming from Eastern Europe increased by 35.14 percent in February this year when compared to the same period last year.
The number of tourists visiting Turkey between January-February this year increased by 35.06 percent when compared to the same period last year. Totally 1,141,548 people visited Turkey in this period.
