ANKARA - Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Wednesday that Turkey-Lithuania relations were on good level.
Lithuanian Parliament Speaker Arturas Paulaskas and accompanying delegation met with Arinc and then meetings between delegations were held.
Arinc told reporters before meetings between delegations that he was pleased to see Paulaskas in Turkey.
Noting that Turkey had relations with Lithuania since 1930s and the relations developed after 1990s when Lithuania gained its independence, Arinc said that diplomatic and political relations with Lithuania were on good level and added that he believed that relations would reach to the highest level with the visit of Paulaskas.
Paulaskas thanked Arinc for his invitation.
Noting that they would have the chance to learn Turkey more closely with that visit, Paulaskas said that the good and intensive relations between Turkey and Lithuania would further develop after Lithuania's membership to the European Union (EU) and NATO soon.
