ANKARA - U.S. Ambassador in Ankara Eric Edelman said on Wednesday that he heard the news from media alleging that one of the top members of terrorist PKK organization was caught, but he noted that he could not officially say anything about it.
Edelman, who visited True Path Party (DYP) leader Mehmet Agar, replied to questions of reporters.
When a journalist reminded Edelman the allegations that Osman Ocalan, one of the top members of terrorist PKK organization, was caught in Iraq, he said he heard the news from media, yet they could not make such an information confirmed through official canals. Edelman said he could not say anything definite and official about the issue.
Replying to a question about the role of Turkey in new structuring in Iraq, DYP leader Agar said he thought that there must be ''a greater Turkey in a greater Middle East''. ''Turkey can be a serious actor with its geopolitical location,'' he added.
