ANKARA - "Our government and security forces exert great efforts in the fight against terrorism in cooperation with the Turkish Armed Forces," Turkish State Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener said on Monday.
Holding a news conference after the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, Sener said, "recently, acts of terrorism and the terrorist organization PKK`s attacks have accelerated. We mourn for our martyrs. We offer our condolences to their families."
"We see that terrorism has become a serious problem for many countries in our age. Turkey has been trying to eradicate the terrorist organization PKK for a long time. Our government and security forces exert great efforts in cooperation with the Turkish Armed Forces to this end," he said.
Sener told reporters that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and General Staff Chief Gen. Yasar Buyukanit would meet on Tuesday to discuss the issue of the fight against terrorism.
