ASHKABAD - Turkmen Head of State Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov on Monday received Turkish Minister of Energy & Natural Resources Hilmi Guler in Ashkabad.
Berdimuhammedov and Guler discussed energy issues as well as other bilateral relations.
Guler, currently in Ashkabad (the first leg of his 4-day trip to Central Asia) earlier met Turkmen Minister of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources Gurbanmurat Atayev and discussed energy cooperation between Turkey and Turkmenistan.
The Nabucco natural gas pipeline project is on Guler`s agenda in Turkmenistan. Turkey and Turkmenistan are expected to sign a cooperation agreement in carrying Turkmen natural gas to Europe under the Nabucco agreement. The Nabucco project is expected to be completed by 2010.
Guler is expected to proceed to Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
