ASHKABAD - Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hilmi Guler has arrived in Ashkabad, Turkmenistan on Monday, the first leg of his 4-day trip to Central Asia.
Guler met Turkmen Minister of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources Gurbanmurat Atayev on Tuesday and discussed energy cooperation between Turkey and Turkmenistan.
Guler is scheduled to meet Turkmen Head of State Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov and later proceed to Kazakhstan.
The Nabucco natural gas pipeline project is on Guler`s agenda in Turkmenistan. Turkey and Turkmenistan are expected to sign a cooperation agreement in carrying Turkmen natural gas to Europe under the Nabucco agreement. The Nabucco project is expected to be completed by 2010.
