MANISA - "We will defeat terrorism," Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Monday.
"We are determined to fight against terrorism, and we will eradicate terrorism," Arinc told reporters in Aegean city of Manisa where he arrived to participate in the funeral for lieutenant colonel Melih Gulova, who was killed in a land mine blast in southeastern city of Sirnak last Saturday.
Meanwhile, the funeral for private Hasan Guresen, who also lost his life in the same attack, will be held in Levent Mosque in Istanbul.
A lieutenant colonel, a major commander and a private were killed when a remote-control explosive planted by the terrorist organization PKK on a road in Guclukonak town in the southeastern city of Sirnak went off on Saturday.
The explosive went off as the military convoy was passing. Four soldiers were injured in the blast.
On the other hand, a corporal named Ahmet Bilgic died in an operation staged against the terrorist organization in Kemah town of eastern city of Erzincan. Another security officer was wounded in the operation.
