HEBRON - Israeli troops killed a Palestinian out hunting in the occupied West Bank on Friday and wounded another, sources from both sides said.
Hedjazi Zrekat, 18, was killed and his relative Yussef Zrekat wounded near their home village of Tufah outside the flashpoint southern city of Hebron, witnesses said.
The Israeli army said troops had opened fire on two armed men in the area. "One managed to leave the scene, a second died of his wounds," a spokesman told AFP.
The death brings to 5,745 the number of people killed since the start of the second Palestinian uprising in September 2000, the vast majority of them Palestinians, according to an AFP count.
