ANKARA - International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation headed by Turkey Desk Chief Reza Moghadam has started discussions in Ankara on Monday under the seventh review of the economic program.
Sources said that Moghadam met with State Minister Ali Babacan at the Sheraton Hotel at 8.30 a.m. and the meeting lasted nearly three hours.
Treasury Undersecretary Ibrahim Canakci and his aides attended the meeting and they made the planning of the review which would continue for nearly two weeks and discussed organization of matters, sources said.
2004 budget, banking sector reform, tax and structural reforms about social security and planning of the remaining period of 2004 were also discussed at the meeting, sources added.
IMF delegation is expected to stay in Turkey until March 12.
