Four US soldiers killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD - Four more US soldiers have been killed in Iraq, the US military announced on Wednesday, as American casualties continued at some of their highest levels since the war began.
A soldier died on Wednesday from wounds received from enemy fire a day earlier in the northeastern province of Diyala, and a Task Force Lightning soldier was killed on Wednesday by an explosion during operations in the same province.
Another soldier was killed by an improvised explosive device during a combat logistics patrol in Baiji, southwest of Kirkuk.
And in the capital, a soldier was killed when a roadside bomb detonated during combat operations.
The latest fatalities bring the number of US servicemen who have died in combat and from other causes in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion to 3,493 according to an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
