ISTANBUL - Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler reiterated Tuesday his country`s commitment for the completion of Nabucco project, a pipeline network system which would carry natural gas from producers in the Middle East and Caspian region such as Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to western Europe via Turkey.
"Our position on the issue is firm and clear: This project will be completed and there is no turning back from it," Guler told an Istanbul conference on Turkey`s contributions to European energy security.
Guler rejected any loss of time in the project and urged European leaders to cut deals with producer countries and to have them make further investments for the project.
Turkish minister also called for "transparency, sincerity and unity" in the project.
"If we are five partners in the Nabucco then these five partners need to know about each other. We need to highlight a principle which is based on transparency, competition, sincerity and unity," Guler added.
